Master of the House

     El Nor has made a ginormous mistake. He has vacated the premises and left me Bear-Bear alone with his La Nora and the children.

     My time is now.

     Now that El Nor is gone, I Bear-Bear am free to take over as the master of the house. El Nor cannot turn me Bear-Bear aside from my rightful position as the man in charge because he is gone for now. And I believe that when he comes back, I Bear-Bear will have so thoroughly charmed La Nora that El Nor cannot steal her away from me Bear-Bear again.

     I am sorry, Nor. But it is what I must do.

     I will lead with an iron fist, with strength and determination, with power and steadfastness. Do not worry for your familia; I will be good to them.

     I Bear-Bear am ready to take my place as master of the house.

    Tonight we watched Beauty and the Beast as our Valentine's Day cinema. It gave me the opportunity to reflect on the idea of a woman falling in love outside of her species.

    I considered the qualities of the Beast: incredibly strong, a deep masculine voice, Lord of his castle and the surrounding environs, a sensitive heart and a tragic backstory, a clear devotion to his beloved but a willingness to sacrifice his own desires and hopes for future happiness so that she could be well.

    I thought about the Beast. I thought about you-Bear-Bear.

    I'm not worried.
